Since 2008, Martin Butler (M1MRB/W9ICQ) along with his eldest son Colin (M6BOY) have been the driving force behind the fortnightly amateur/ham radio podcast show – ICQ Amateur /Ham Radio Podcast.

Each episode, Martin and Colin are joined by friends and fellow amateur/ham radio operators to discuss the latest news, events and technological changes happening in the hobby.

Martin was licenced in 2001, is currently Chairman of the Sutton and Cheam Radio Society and is an active trainer in the local area with a high success rate of getting interested candidates their first ticket and beyond.

This book is a collection of essay’s that have made up features in recent episodes of the ICQ Amateur/Ham Radio Podcast.

Each feature hopes to cross the full spectrum of knowledge, so a beginner can learn a lot, with more experienced operators picking up tips or refreshing forgotten knowledge.
